Counting Webinars Among the Most Important Elements in Business, Part II

Filed under: Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 10:56 am

In the last post I talked about the work of getting my own business off the ground. With a lot of patience and a whole lot of faith in myself and my idea I did whatever it took to make sure that everything went off without a hitch and the doors opened as scheduled. But my work didn’t end there. In fact, when my business opened was when the real work began. I had to make sure that I delivered beyond expectations if I was going to make a real go of it in this competitive industry. I was the new kid on the block and I had a lot to prove.

One of the most important things that I had to prove to potential new customers was my ability to communicate effectively – even if they were on one coast and I was on the other. That was when I discovered webinars – something that will not only be prevalent in growing my business today but will surely play a starring role in my company’s growth to come.

Webinars are the modern way to communicate – utilizing the power of the Internet. Through webinars I am able to present specific information to my target audience, no matter where they are in the world. This means that my team here on the east coast can conference with their clients on the west coast and not only discuss the topic at hand but also reference particular documents online – all at once.

Through webinars I am able to ensure my clients – and potential new clients – that I am able to expertly handle any of their projects and communicate with them effectively no matter what our physical distance. In fact, our ability to host webinars has become part of the information we provide when pitching new business.

Counting Webinars Among the Most Important Elements in Business, Part I

Filed under: Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 8:56 am

When it came to getting my business off the ground I took many risks to see my vision through to the end. It was unnerving, to say the least, but at the heart of it all was my complete faith in the business idea and my desire to do something with my life that made me happy. But, of course, getting my business off the ground was only a part of the fight. Once I was open there was much more that had to be done to ensure that I was giving my customers what they expected and then there was the importance of building the business by reaching out to potential new customers. I researched everything; I looked at anything I could get my hands on; I learned from others’ experiences; and I committed 100%. Anything that I found to be helpful and successful I stored away in my mind as “keepers” – those elements that would continue to be important to my business as I moved forward and continued to grow.

One of the many things that I found to be so important if I was going to truly find success was finding more effective methods of communication. I was on the east coast but many of the potential customers that I was reaching out to were on the other side of the country. I knew I had the products that they needed and wanted at far lower prices than they were currently paying. I also knew that my customer service was hands down among the best in the industry. But what I really needed to prove to those potential new customers was that I would be able to effectively communicate with them in spite of the physical distance. It was then that I discovered what will undoubtedly continue to be among my greatest resources well into the future of my business – webinars. More in the next post…

Web Conferencing for Negotiations

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Webinar Editor @ 7:18 am

Negotiation is as much a part of doing business as anything else. Money changes hands for products and services and – as a part of the process – there is often the negotiation of that price. This happens in small business as well as in big corporations. But no matter what the scale of the negotiation at hand the unifying theme is the need for effective communication in order to foster a speedy resolution. These days this can be easier said than done as business is being conducted across state borders and even globally. Companies of all sizes – if they want to join in this new world of commerce – have to quickly adapt and ensure that they are up to the challenge of handling the needs of customers that may be a world away.

The world of web conferencing has allowed companies to step up to the plate appropriately – giving them the flexibility to respond to their customers’ needs, regardless of whether or not they are within driving distance of each other. Web conferencing harnesses the power of the Internet to give businesses effective, hands-on methods of communication that allows them to share documents, talk in real time with a variety of participants, and access the same information.

Through web conferencing, companies even thousands of miles away from each other can go through the process of negotiations with ease. All that is required is for hosts to send invitations for their web conference to the appropriate parties and await attendees. Through web conferencing hosts can present whatever information they feel to be most relevant to the topic at hand; and best of all, there is no need for participants to be in the same physical location for the results to be effective. Web conferencing is another important piece of doing business in the modern world.

Webinars Expanded My Business

Filed under: Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 9:21 am

As a part of the world of financial services I have suffered firsthand the effects of the economy. With the stock market in a state of turmoil my clients have been understandably ill at ease as they have watched their investments take huge hits. Trading has become essentially stagnant at this time and my income, as a result, has come to a screeching halt – at least from this part of my business. With so much at stake I needed to find another way to produce income through the marketing of a product that would not be so volatile. Luckily I had gone through the schooling necessary to sell long term care insurance and this was my opportunity to really throw myself into it completely. As a Baby Boomer myself I knew that there were many in my age group who had put off planning for their later years. With so many of us living longer than ever, it was not enough to make sure that retirement investments were able to keep up it – it was also important to have a plan in place for long term health care that would allow us not to burden our children and would avoid the complete evaporation of our savings.

I was ready to reach this audience but I was unsure how best to do it. I set up free conferences where attendees came to a nearby restaurant and I treated to them to breakfast while I educated them on the importance of long term health care. This was moderately successful but I wanted to be able to reach a broader audience and so I looked into webinars.

I could invite attendees – no matter where they were in the world – to my free weekly webinars and this would allow me to completely erase restraints that my physical location presented to growing my business. There was only so far that I could go in reaching out to those in my community; but webinars would allow me reach further still – helping me to really expand my business.

Explaining Your Product Using Webinars, Part II

Filed under: Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 4:29 pm

In the last post we began to talk about the benefits of webinars – about how they can reach over distance, both physical and the boundaries created by a busy schedule – and deliver critical information. More and more companies in all industries are utilizing webinars to bring their clients and customers up to speed on particular programs or to introduce information to an audience that has the potential to become customers. More than anything webinars are the modern answer to the traditional seminar in which attendees would crowd into a room and listen to a speaker. Webinars allows attendees to have the same kind of experience – and receive the same kind of information but in a much more dynamic, and certainly more convenient, manner.

As we related in the last post, webinars can be given free of charge as an added value for existing clients or customers to help educate them on particular programs or products; or for potential new customers as incentive for them to move forward with the business relationship. A webinar can also be offered with a registration fee. After all, most traditional seminars include fees that are charged attendees.

But whether they are free of charge or include a fee, webinars are the new way of imparting information in the modern world of business. They give users a portal to access information from anywhere in the world and a way for companies to deliver such things as:

• Training for particular programs or processes. Webinars allows companies to offer continued education – a significant added value for any business.

• Introduction of new products or services to keep clients informed or entice new customers.

• Industry updates. There are some industries that are continually affected by the rollout of updated government regulations and industry standards. Webinars offer the perfect platform to reach an audience all at once to deliver that information.

Explaining Your Product Using Webinars, Part I

Filed under: Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 5:29 pm

This is a very interesting time in business. The economy may be struggling to stay above water as we speak and that has certainly been a major obstacle for most industries that are suffering layoffs and lowered earnings. But we also have some exciting things at our disposal. We live in a time during which technology is absolutely exploding and in the world of business this has meant the ability to work with people around the world just as easily as we can with people down the street. Technology, in fact, has opened so many doors in the world of commerce that it has entirely changed the landscape of the business. We are no longer confined to physical boundaries when it comes to providing a service; through computer technology we are able to deliver in every capacity no matter where our physical location in the world.

This, of course, does require that the communication that we use must be top-notch in order to effectively deliver information. In order for one company on one side of the world to effectively service another company on the other side of the world they must demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are able to navigate the physical separation. This is especially the case if the company in question needs to help mitigate a learning curve for their client or customer; bringing them up to speed on the processes or programs that will be used on their behalf. In this case, there’s nothing like using the best technology currently has to offer – webinars.

Webinars offer advanced communication options allowing for the presentation of your own personalized material through an online seminar. A webinar may be used to reach out to a very specific audience that is invited by you – a free event that is your company’s way of delivering information or it can even be an online event for which you charge a registration fee. Meet and Greet in a Cost-Effective Way

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Webinar Editor @ 4:00 pm

Companies far and wide are in the business of saving money – now more than ever. Anything they do has to be justified in terms of cost-effectiveness; discretionary spending is no longer appropriate. That being said, there are still things that must be done in business regardless of what they cost.

For instance, there are many companies that operate in a variety of locations or do business with vendors or clients that are in other parts of the country or even the world. Effective communication is absolutely necessary for any company’s survival and especially important if a company is remain viable when working through logistical boundaries. But how does any company make sure that all of the appropriate parties can communicate effectively and not have to travel the world over to make it happen? Through web conferencing!

While teleconferencing allows a multitude of parties to speak on one conference call, web conferencing takes it to the next level – allowing for the addition of visual components. This is especially important today when we are working with so much information online and everything that we do is captured on our desktops. With web conferencing, participants not only have the ability to discuss what is on the agenda but to visually present it as well, making web conferencing perfect for:

• Sales presentations. Who says you have to travel across the country or the world to make a sales pitch to a potential new client? With web conferencing you can present all of your materials right on the computer where participants can view and appreciate it no matter where they are in the world.

• Training. For companies that have employees in different locations, web conferencing offers the opportunity to present one training session to all of them at once.

• Team projects. Just because members of a team are in different physical locations doesn’t mean they can’t communicate effectively.

Get More Mileage From A Webinar

Filed under: Web Conferencing, Webinar — Webinar Editor @ 1:13 pm

Using a webinar to communicate with employees, clients and even a standard seminar crowd certainly trumps the face-to-face format when it comes to convenience. But, can it really compete with in-person meetings on other levels?

If you know how to select the right web conferencing services and how to take advantage of what they have to offer, the answer is yes. If you want to get a lot of mileage out of a webinar, look for a facilitator that offers:

A variety of packages – Webinars are not one-size-fits-all tools. With this in mind, good web conferencing services offer their clients access to a variety of service packages. If a full paid seminar will be replaced by a webinar, for example, a good company will provide turnkey packages. These will include all the verbal and visual communication tools webinars are famous for and extras like registration and payment acceptance assistance.

A number of special features – In theory, a webinar should practically mirror an actual meeting with it comes to capabilities. To make this happen, the best web conferencing services provide a number of special features that can be used during sessions. For example, sidebar meeting rooms can be set up to facilitate negotiations in the online arena. Recording and transcription services might also be offered.

Security and reliability – A webinar won’t do a company any good if the connections are not secured and sound. A reputable web conferencing service will make certain its clients have access to online meeting sessions that are privacy protected and connection secured.

A webinar is certainly a convenient way to host a meeting. After all, most people would rather stay at home or in their home offices instead of traveling to a set location. Getting the most out of this format, however, does require finding a good facilitator. When quality web conferencing services are used, the difference will be marked.

Hammer Out Details With Web Conferencing Services

Filed under: Web Conferencing, Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 8:40 pm

It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to hammer out a sales contract, a real estate purchase or a legal settlement, the devil is in the details. The back-and-forth can become quite grueling and even costly in time and money both. Should a better way to meet be needed, web conferencing services can make the process flow more smoothly.

Web conferencing services are professional facilitators of online meetings. Webinars give their users access to a number of features that can eliminate the need for in-person meetings in many cases. Even in the legal arena, the webinar format is becoming accepted because of the features it can provide.

When web conferencing services are relied upon to facilitate meetings, hammering out of details will be a little bit easier because this format enables:

Easier connections – Half the problem of trying to work out serious business in person is found in the fact that it is difficult to get people together. When schedules just aren’t meshing for face-to-face sessions, webinars can often help. This type of meeting will only require attendees to be at a computer with internet access. This means attendees can technically be at home or in their own offices when meetings take place.

Facilitation features – Webinars provide a platform that supports both visual and verbal communication. This means full presentations can be given and seen on attendees’ computer screens. In addition, the webinar meeting format provides for the free exchange of information, sidebar meeting rooms and other important features.

Security – One of the issues that can go along with meetings that are legal in nature is a need for privacy and security. Web conferencing services deliver on this front. Online meeting rooms are secured so only invited attendees can get in. Plus, it is even possible to fully record a session and have transcripts created.

Incorporating Accountability Into A Webinar

Filed under: Web Conferencing, Webinar — Webinar Editor @ 6:20 am

Going online to host a meeting is a great way to enjoy near instant communication with features that can make it seem like everyone is actually in the same room. A well-run webinar will be an almost seamless experience. Sometimes, however, a little accountability is required.

If your boss demands a record of the proceedings or the topic of discussion happens to be legal in nature, reputable web conferencing services will not disappoint. You can have your cake and eat it too, so to say. There is no reason to think that just because a face-to-face won’t take place that accountability cannot be a part of the equation.

Should accountability be your concern in using this online variation of a meeting, relax. These features offered by the best web conferencing services should put your mind to ease:

Full communication abilities – What makes the webinar format stand out is the fact that it does allow for both verbal and visual communication. There’s no reason to think bypassing important presentations will be required to enjoy this more convenient tool.

Recording ability – Good web conferencing services enable the full recording of a webinar from the time it begins until it ends. This is essential for having a record of what took place and can also prove useful for filling in those who were unable to attend. When a webinar is used for training programs, for example, they can be recorded to make other sessions a breeze.

Transcription – Webinars offered by reputable services can also have their proceeding recreated through transcription. A written record of conversations and presentations can prove especially important for negotiations, contract discussions and more.

The webinar format offers a variety of safeguards that make it uniquely suited for important meetings. While this type of meeting will be more convenient and even more expedient and cost effective, it does not skimp in regard to accountability.
