Web Conferencing Makes Sense

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Webinar Editor @ 7:50 pm

Right now, with the economy the way that it is, businesses need to ask themselves on a day to day basis if something they are considering spending money on makes sense. In other words, spending has become more controlled than ever and with funds low and tensions high it has become absolutely critical that companies of all sizes take a closer look at what they consider important.

So what doesn’t make sense right now? Travel expenses.

The cost of transportation, lodging, meals, and associated fees can easily become overwhelming for a company – especially if you are talking about travel for multiple people and multiple trips throughout the year. At the same time we have entered a business world in which people from all corners of the globe work together – which has been great for commerce but has also presented logistical issues that must be addressed. While it’s amazing to be able to do business with a company in another country it also means that we have to work out a way to communicate with said company as effectively as possible. While travel at some points may be necessary it may not always make sense. Luckily there are cost-effective options.

What does make sense? Web conferencing.

Web conferencing refers to the technology that allows people to “meet” online – share information, exchange ideas, and hear as well as see each other if they so choose. When there are multiple participants that must be included it is the most cost-effective way to meet without having to incur travel costs. Imagine the convenience of being able to communicate through web conferencing and the money that can be saved as result.

It’s all a matter of looking at the numbers and determining what makes sense and what doesn’t. In a world where global commerce is accepted but travel expenses are not appropriate, web conferencing works.

Webinar When It Counts, Part II

Filed under: Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 6:27 am

In the last post we talked about the inevitability of businesses facing significant challenges each and every day. It is always in a company’s best interest to put their best foot forward on a daily basis but we all know that sometimes we have particular times in which we must really shine – be it to win a new piece of business or impress a very important client. We turn, during those times, to the tools that we have at our disposal and for many of us the resources offered by technology today have allowed us to move ahead of the competition and really set ourselves apart from the pack.

Webinars, as we discussed, are certainly one option for those businesses that really want to make a statement. As web-based seminars, webinars are enormously effective at reaching out to a particular audience and delivering a message – regardless of the physical location of attendees. It is no longer necessary to book that conference room or reserve that hotel in order to hold a seminar on your products or services; webinars allow you to do that just as effectively and certainly more conveniently without having to incur travel expenses.

Some of the benefits that webinars offer include:

• The ability to educate your audience about your particular products. Education empowers people and by showing your customers that you care about showing them the nuts and bolts of how or why your products work – more than just selling them on it – they appreciate your enthusiasm. It shows you stand behind your product.

• Introduce new information. When you roll something new out at your company webinars are a great way to let everyone know at once. You can schedule a webinar and announce your news in style.

• Offer support. Customers want to know that their vendors are there for them and are willing to provide them day to day support. Webinars can offer a great forum for questions and answers. No matter how far apart you are physically from each other they will know that you are right by their side.

Webinar When It Counts, Part I

Filed under: Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 7:15 pm

Working hard is par for the course when it comes to running a successful business but there are times when you need to rev it up a notch and put everything you have into it – and more; those times when you have a significant opportunity on the line or a particular client to impress. Those in business have a multitude of tricks up their sleeves for just these times; the ways in which they utilize the resources available to them in order to maximize their opportunities for success. Today, we have a larger variety of resources available to us than ever before because of the technology that exists. When you really need something that puts your business ahead of the rest – a way in which you can communicate most effectively and really stand out when the competition is thick – webinars can help.

As its name suggests, a webinar refers to a web-based seminar wherein a host can present information live to their audience via the Internet. While participants certainly have the opportunity to engage in discussion and ask questions, most often a webinar is one-way communication through which those running it can impart their message without the typical constraints presented by physical distance. In fact, webinars take away physical boundaries entirely. Imagine what this means to a small business in one state that has the ability to serve clients or customers all over the country but, up until this point, has not had the opportunity to reach that audience effectively.

Webinars provide opportunities that did not previously exist; a completely different way for businesses to reach out to potential customers and distinguish themselves from their competitors. In the next post we’ll talk about some of the benefits that webinars offer when going above and beyond can make all the difference in the world.

Solving Issues Quickly with Web Conferencing

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Webinar Editor @ 9:49 am

No one likes to come up against any sort of problems in business but there are those weeks when most of us feel as if the only thing we are doing is putting out one fire after the other. In addition to being enormously frustrating, operating in continuous crisis mode also makes for much less effective production in any business. After all, if you are spending all of your time addressing problems then when is the actual work getting done?

These challenges can be easily compounded when companies are dealing with a number of different offices or when vendors or clients are physically far from them. Meeting in person requires travel which is not cost-efficient and, let’s face it, ineffective if you need to resolve an issue quickly. And while email and phone conferences are potential alternatives neither is ideal when there is something of great importance to discuss; too much can get lost in translation.

Web conferencing, however, allows participants to not only hear each other but see each other and it offers the next best alternative to meeting in person. For those companies that are operating several offices in different locales, web conferencing (if it hasn’t already) will soon become the standard operating procedure simply because it offers the most technologically modern way to conduct live meetings and share information – including documents.

With web conferencing at their disposal, companies can access the technology they need to stay involved and, most importantly, stay current on what all of their employees are doing including how they are handling particular problems that inevitably arise. But what web conferencing also offers is the ability to address the problem quickly – on the spot – with all the people that are a part of the team – so that problems can be resolved and they can move on to the work at hand.

Adding Value with Webinars

Filed under: Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 3:10 pm

Value, while subjective, can easily be quantified in business; especially when you are company that is committed to providing your customers with “added value.” This is typically part of a marketing strategy; to provide benefits over and above the standards for those who choose to sign up for a particular product or service. You want your customers – or your potential customers – to feel as though they are getting as much for their money as possible; you are improving upon their return on investment and that goes a long way towards building trust in the relationship.

These days, companies are able to offer more technologically based value to their customers including the availability of webinars. A webinar – part of overall web conferencing solutions that are so popular today – is a seminar that is presented over the web and allows for interaction between the host and participants. Instead of attending a seminar in a physical location as they may have done in years past, attendees are asked to attend online and they are given a code with which to login and join the webinar.

Companies of all sizes and in all industries use webinars for a variety of purposes including the opportunity to introduce products or services, expand upon company promotion, and offer training on particular subjects. Webinars may have once been new on the scene but now web savvy marketers are discovering new and better ways to use webinars in their overall promotion.

In terms of using webinars as an added value for customers or would-be customers it can work something like this: new prospects are encouraged to sign up for more information and for doing so they are invited to attend a series of free webinars regarding the very topic in which they are interested. Or, new accounts are given access to webinars throughout their first year to give them added support – and, of course, added value for their investment.

Offering Support Across the Miles with Web Conferencing

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Webinar Editor @ 1:54 pm

Launching a new office when one is already in operation is a challenge for any business but a challenge that many companies find themselves facing as they make a play in the global marketplace. It is simply a matter of survival and many corporations are doing what they can to stay viable in a precarious economic climate. Those who are in charge of making the logistics of such a deal happen, however, have much to consider – especially when there are so many businesses operating with skeleton crews and overloaded staff.

How does web conferencing work in this mix? By providing a portal through which members of the same team can communicate without having to share the same physical space. Consider the team member who is on one side of the country trying to keep up his own workload while still keeping tabs on what is happening in the launch of the new office on the other side of the country. Telephone calls are great; email is convenient. But when it comes to really sharing information in the most efficient way possible –and with all the resources that modern technology allows us – web conferencing stands above the rest.

Web conferencing allows for people to communicate from all distances – share information, speak to each other, review documents, and provide support in the best way possible next to actually being there in the same room with colleagues.

More and more, as the world of business continues to change and people rely more heavily on technology, web conferencing will continue to be front and center in offices and conference rooms around the world – a way for people to stay in touch from across the miles and allowing businesses to build up their offices in whatever locations they choose with the same luxury of in-house support.

Event Attendance with Web Conferencing

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Webinar Editor @ 6:06 pm

Everyone knows there’s no such thing as being in two places at the same time. Except in this day and age we have the technology that offers us the next best thing. Web conferencing is typically thought of as technology that is used by businesses to conduct meetings, seminars, training sessions, sales presentations, and more – a way to disseminate information to a particular audience or group without having to physically be in the same room with them. This is true; web conferencing has become a staple in the modern business world especially as companies are conducting business across international borders and travel has become cost prohibitive in the current economic climate.

But while web conferencing is most certainly effective for these types of business scenarios, it also offers a way for people to literally be in two places at once – attending two different events, whether they are business or personal. Consider the businessperson who is asked to attend a seminar in one state but has an important meeting scheduled in another. Rather than having to reschedule and risk the stability of either situation, they can simply physically attend one and attend the other through web conference. Setting up a web conferencing meeting is easy and convenient; professional companies make the process enormously cost-effective.

On a more personal front web conferencing can even be used when there’s a family event happening far away that you simply cannot attend because of schedule or travel limitations. Web conferencing is the next best thing to being live at the event itself; you can conference in to the event and feel as if you there among your family and friends. Is it ideal? No. But it’s certainly an option that we would never have had in the past and it allows friends and family who are physically distant from each other to remain emotionally close.

Generate Sales Leads with Webinars, Part II

Filed under: Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 8:15 pm

In the last post we talked about the difficulties that all businesses are experiencing right now with the current economy; and the difficulties that salespeople are having as a result. With people watching their money closer than ever, every product and service has become more of a challenging sell. You are, after all, asking people to part with cash when budgets have been cut in a recession. So salespeople have to be creative in the ways in which they generate qualified leads and the way in which they deliver information. Webinars, as we discussed in the last post, are an interesting way to reach out to interested parties.

Webinars are a web-based platform through which information is disseminated to an audience that has been invited or has signed up for the webinar time because they are interested in the subject matter. Our example in the last post talked about a company that sells life insurance reaching out to potential sales leads by hosting a webinar – or series of webinars – that delivers industry information as communicated through experts in the field who are not associated with the company. This lends credibility to the webinar and still allows the hosting company to gather information about potential sales leads who are interested in their product.

Webinars that are used for this purpose are typically given for free at various times throughout a week that give potential attendees some options. More than anything it is easier than ever to use this modern technology as web conferencing companies have made the organization and presentation of webinars convenient and affordable.

Companies that want to reach out to their audience in a new and different way can deliver them unbiased information that can ultimately further their interest in their product and service; creating untold potential opportunities for sales.

Generate Sales Leads with Webinars, Part I

Filed under: Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 8:57 am

Under typical circumstances sales is a tough game. No matter how much you believe in a product, selling its advantages to someone else comes strapped with the added burden of having to convince that person to part with their money. They may like your product or service – but not that much. And remember, this is under typical circumstances and right now is anything but typical considering the economy. No one is parting with their money as comfortably as they may have once done. The result for those who are in sales is that they have a more difficult road to travel to generate sales leads and communicate their message enough confidence and passion – enough so that it inspires someone to take the plunge. Salespeople had better be prepared to come to the table with something different – unique and creative.

What salespeople in all industries are discovering as a result is that webinars can be the key to generating qualified leads and making sales because they offer an opportunity to deliver a message in a more non-commercial format. Webinars are typically used to offer training or topic-specific information on a web-based platform.

The way in which webinars can help generate leads and encourage sales is by offering industry – rather than company – specific information. For instance, a business that sells life insurance may sponsor a series of webinars about life insurance – the types of policies that are available, the amount of insurance a family should carry, how to determine appropriate rates, etc. Such a business may bring in independent, unbiased speakers or industry experts to deliver the information so that it is not just one message that is delivered by one company.

Those who sign up for the webinar are obviously interested in life insurance – and lo and behold a sales lead has been generated. More in the next post…

Sell Your Products Through Webinars

Filed under: Webinar, Webinars — Webinar Editor @ 6:02 pm

When companies would typically roll out a new product into their existing line they would automatically generate some fanfare and buzz through print promotions and maybe even through television or radio spots. While these methods are still viable they do not reach the audience on a personal level and, most importantly, they do not take into account the most pervasive medium available in marketing today – the Internet. Today, we get our news online and we gather our information with the touch of our keyboard keys. Ignoring the Internet when it comes to marketing would be a huge mistake indeed.

But companies are taking it one step further by making use of one of the most effective tools available online today – the webinar. By creating webinars related to their new product line they can inform customers and educate the retailers that will be carrying the line. It’s a terrific technology which so many businesses have taken advantage of in one way or another – to deliver their message, and more importantly, create a dialogue between themselves and their intended audience.

By setting up a webinar, the company in question can be sure to reach all of its audience at one time – inviting them through email invitation to attend their live webinar happening at a particular time on a particular date. Invitees, simply by logging on using the information that was provided them can immediately join in a live presentation where they can listen to the webinar host and guest speakers, and even view videos and other supporting material that the webinar host will include in their presentation.

Of course, in order for things to go as smoothly as they possibly can it is important that the company hosting such an event work with a reputable and experienced communications company that is adept at providing comprehensive webinar services.
