In the last post we talked about the ever-expanding business community and how that community has grown to include virtual workers who maintain their offices at home. This is becoming more the norm each and every year as businesses look for ways to reduce their overhead and still respond to their clients effectively - clients who may be around the country or around the world. Web conferencing is one of the state-of -the-art technologies that utilize the Internet to give users the ability to navigate the changing business environment. Web conferencing gives people the ability to meet online from a multitude of locations - to interact and to access and discuss documents.
There are a variety of benefits that are offered through web conferencing. As we already discussed some of those benefits include the ability for attendees to put a face to their name. The Internet is a wonderful tool but it can also strip personal attention from an experience. Web conferencing allows people to meet as they would traditionally without having to be in the same physical location. Additionally, web conferencing allows at-home workers to be involved in day to day business dealings and gives companies the opportunity to service their client fast and effectively.
Some additional benefits that web conferencing offers for home offices includes:
The ability to manage projects day to day. Ongoing projects are clearly a part of business and they need to be managed appropriately. Web conferencing gives businesses the tools to manage projects effectively and professionally.
The opportunity to offer visual appeal. The great part about web conferencing is that it offers the tools of the Internet. Any meeting can be complemented with visual documents that can be seen by all attendees.
Responsiveness. Those who are working from their home offices are not physically connected to the businesses for which they work. Web conferencing gives them the ability to reach out to their co-workers and to company management so that they can stay in the loop and get the answers they need.

The current business climate is one that supports versatility. We are operating in a global marketplace where business professionals are not necessarily working in a traditional office environment during traditional business hours. With differing time zones a part of the mix and many companies employing staff who work from their home offices, it is important to have the appropriate mode of communication for all parties involved. Web conferencing is not just a part of the modern technology available to us today but it’s an important way for making the virtual work environment successful. Web conferencing brings multiple parties together online - creating a virtual meeting space where attendees can meet even if they are across the country - or across the world - from each other. Over the Internet, web conferencing attendees have the ability to interact with each other in the next best way to a traditional meeting. Attendees can talk to each other, hear each other, share information, and access and discuss documents. Web conferencing has opened a new door for virtual workers who want to communicate in the most effective manner possible.
Web conferencing offers these benefits to home office workers:
The ability to put a face to a name. Phone conferencing and email have its place but when important business is on the line it’s often important to have a personal touch. Web conferencing gives everyone the floor to interact personally with each other just as they would in a traditional meeting.
The opportunity to bridge distance. Those working from a home office have the advantage of no commute and the convenience of working flexibility but it’s also easy to feel cut off from day to day business. Web conferencing allows for workers to get involved from their location - no matter where that is.
The ability to work quickly and effectively. We all need to be able to respond to our clients most effectively and as quickly as possible. Web conferencing can make that happen.

In our line of work the relationship between client and vendor is paramount to success. We don’t just provide a service, we work with our clients hand in hand, as partners to complete very specific projects that have a clearly defined beginning and a clearly defined end. We need to work within the parameters of this arrangement in the most effective way possible, following a carefully created strategy. So it stands to reason that we need to have a good relationship with our clients; and more specifically than that we need to have a communicative relationship with our clients. Those clients that are in the same city as we are have proximity on their side and they will likely see members of our team on a weekly, if not a daily basis. Those clients that are in other states or countries have the power of web conferencing on their side.
Web conferencing is something that we have long used in our industry to help us stay on top of all the components of a project at hand. It’s perfect for being able to meet with clients without having to actually meet with them physically. It’s the perfect complement to our business and the next best thing to our weekly meetings that we have with our local clients. Through web conferencing we can have a back and forth conversation with attendees, share information, ask questions, and, most importantly, access and share the documents that we have to go over to keep the project on track.
In our business, web conferencing has opened many doors for us; we are able to meet just as comfortably with our out of town clients as we are our local clients - giving us the ability to remain effective across the board and confident in leading the projects at hand.

In the last post we talked about the enormous growth of the Internet and how it has all completely changed the way in which we conduct business. The online environment has opened up doors to us that were previously closed and allowed us to reach out to companies and people the world over; giving us a whole new playing field on which to promote our companies. Webinars and the variety of web conferencing options available to us now have given us amazing tools for getting our company names out there and promoting ourselves in a completely new and different way. Webinars especially are enormously versatile and are used in a variety of ways in business - from conducting training sessions to offering the chance to “meet” with employees and vendors around the world.
Webinars are also often used to offer information about a particular topic and the hosting person - or company - is able to promote themselves through the offering of this information. Webinars are online seminars to which people are invited and through which they are offered information on topics in which they are interested. For example, you may attend a webinar about web design and all of the things that go into making an effective, and ultimately successful web design. The webinar itself is interesting and helpful but, ultimately, the company offering it (experts in web design, naturally) want you to come to them for your web design.
The promotion of webinars can happen in a variety of ways and social networking is one of the ways in which webinars can be promoted easily and conveniently. In fact, those who are missing the boat on social networking are missing the chance to reach a huge audience. Promotion can be complemented through the use of LinkedIn, Facebook, and even Twitter. Think of social media as your billboard and create your message accordingly.

The world has shrunk in many ways; shrunk because of our ability to communicate with each other so effectively and travel to each other so easily. Internet technology has been a huge part of this process; giving us the tools to be able to reach out to people thousands of miles away and talk to them as if they were very much in the same room with us. In business, this kind of technology has expanded what we are able to do and where we are able to go; the world is open to us in every conceivable way - if we are able to use the resources available to us in the most effective manner possible. Web conferencing is just one example of how Internet technology has changed everything for business. It would have once been inconceivable to imagine being able to present information to a potential client in a manner so closely resembling a traditional meeting if that potential client was in California and we were in New York. Today it’s commonplace for web conferencing and webinars to stand in for travel and traditional meetings. Why go to the time and expense when we can jump online and have essentially the same experience?
One of the ways in which web conferencing has become a part of the modern business world is by allowing those in sales to make their presentations virtually instead of calling upon potential customers to take the time to meet with them in person - especially if there is expensive travel associated with that proposition. Through web conferencing, sales presentations can be done easily and conveniently - allowing sales professionals to:
Save time and money. Not every sales presentation results in a sale. Presenting with the help of web conferencing allows you avoid travel expenses and certainly allows you to make a number of sales presentations back to back - increasing your opportunities for success.
Respecting your audience’s time. Not everyone you approach for business is going to be willing to take the time to sit down with you. However, they may agree to take the time to simply logon to a web conference. This minimizes their initial commitment but still gives you the opportunity to shine.
Demonstrate your skills. If you do win business from a potential client they are going to want - as everyone does - to be assured that you can provide them with comprehensive service regardless of the physical distance between you. Web conferencing demonstrates your commitment to technology and your ability to jump right in with both feet.

In the last post we talked about the benefits that web conferencing can offer companies in the modern business world. This is the new age of communication; an age in which companies in all parts of the world can talk and do business during the course of the day without having to be in the same physical location. Web conferencing, in fact, is a part of the technology that has allowed for the global expansion of business. There is no doubt that the functionality is there; in that web conference participants can talk and exchange information in the manner in which they would otherwise do in a traditional meeting. However, the use of web conferencing means much more than functionality to a company that is working hard to keep their clients comfortable with their ability to serve them effectively.
In the last post we talked about the fact that web conferencing can help instill a level of trust in clients who may be dealing with a vendor a world away from them. While email and phone conferencing is great and certainly necessary, web conferencing allows people to see each other face to face and - in business - this is still important to those who are investing their money with vendors. Some other benefits of web conferencing include:
The ability for companies to showcase their ability to respond quickly to whatever issues may arise. Businesses want to work with vendors that are ready and able to do what needs to be done at a moment’s notice. It can be disconcerting, therefore, to work with someone who is not physically near you. Will they be able to respond? Will they be there when you need them? Web conferencing can work to help put clients at ease.
The tools to manage projects with strong leadership. When projects are underway leaders need to be able to disseminate information quickly, delegate jobs, and check in regularly to gauge progress. Web conferencing allows for all of that regardless of location and puts companies in the driver’s seat with their clients.

It’s enough of a challenge to win a client; to do enough that they have enough faith in you to give you their business. The challenge continues, however, in actually keeping that client happy enough to stay with you. Vendors are called upon to continually prove themselves on a daily basis in order to keep harmony with their clients; to keep them comfortable so that they are willing and happy to continue to do business with them. This challenge intensifies when you’e doing business with clients that are not physically near you; it changes the dynamic when you can’t have face-to-face meetings. Companies have had to get creative in the face of global business. Is it possible to do business with clients a world away? Absolutely. The technology exists to make it not only possible but convenient to service clients no matter where they may be in the world; but that doesn’t mean that those clients will be comfortable with that distance. Web conferencing can help bridge the distance and increase comfort level all around.
Web conferencing is a part of the technology that is currently available to us; technology that is used on a daily basis in companies of all sizes and in countries around the world. Web conferencing helps companies cover the details of communicating with clients who are not in their physical proximity; but it does much more than that when used effectively. Web conferencing technology can increase the comfort level of clients who are being serviced by vendors that may even be states or countries away by:
Allowing clients to see their vendors. They may not be in the same room together having a meeting but web conferencing offers a personal experience nonetheless in that people are able to see each other’s facial expressions and engage in conversation that is at least the next best thing to being physically together. This is certainly helpful in instilling trust in clients you want to keep.

From the employee perspective, there’s nothing worse than having to drive, fly or even take a train for another “boring” training session. Hours spent in a conference room listening to programs that can drag out just doesn’t seem necessary or productive to many workers with busy schedules. When a better way of making sure mandatory programs are attended and absorbed is needed, web conferencing services can really make a difference.
Webinars provide a different and often more cost-effective way for companies to make sure all workers receive mandatory training. While this online version of a meeting might not work for all types of training, it does lend itself to many scenarios. Basic training sessions that involve the dissemination of information, for example, are excellent to hold in a webinar format.
There are a number of reasons why companies and their workers prefer this format. This is especially so when a lot of time and travel is involved in holding a training session. The reasons for the success of webinar training programs include:
The time saved – When an employee can log onto a web conferencing service from the comfort of his or her own office or home and attend a training session, the time saved can add up to a lot. The reality is this format can be very beneficial for not only handling training, but also for getting employees back to work faster after a session is completed.
The money saved – When a company has workers in remote offices or even in at-home working situations, the costs involved with having all employees report to a central site can add up fast. A webinar is a more cost-effective means for getting the job done.
Using webinars in place of in-person training sessions can benefit a company and its employees. The cost and time savings alone can make this alternative mode of communication worth exploring in depth.

In the last post we talked about the difference in the world since the Internet has reached such staggering heights of popularity. No longer are companies shackled by the boundaries of physical distance; web conferencing - along with a variety of other web-based programs - allows companies to operate most efficiently and utilize all that is available to them in terms of modern technology. There are many benefits that web conferencing brings to the table and among them are the two that we discussed in the previous post - the ability to save time and money; two hallmarks of doing successful business.
Some additional benefits of web conferencing include:
Having the ability to meet the demands of clients quickly. Ultimately customer service is the foundation of any successful business. Anything that a business can do to make their clients happy is worthy of pursuit and web conferencing is one of the best tools towards that end. If a vendor and client are physically separated from each other then it’s more important than ever to make sure that you are able to address whatever issues arise.
Allowing you to stand out against the competition. Let’s face it; there’s a lot of competition out there and clients have the option of working with anyone and everyone around the world; there are no longer any boundaries to doing business. And with such a huge playing field, it’s important to be able to stand up against those who may be competing for the same business. Web conferencing shows a commitment to technology and the dedication to go above and beyond to always being available to their clients.
Taking management to the next level. In business, projects happen every day. The ability to manage those projects easily and effectively is priceless. Web conferencing allows all parties to stay engaged and involved; able to tackle the details of whatever project is on the table.

The world - once seemingly large in scope - has grown decidedly smaller with the growing popularity of the Internet. Now, people can connect with each other in a matter of seconds - no matter where in the world they happen to be at the time. The Internet has broken down boundaries of all kinds and, with them, the many reasons why it would have been difficult to do business with companies that were not in your general vicinity. Web conferencing for instance, is just one of the ways in which companies are able to leverage the power of the Internet to bring business within their reach.
So what is web conferencing? In short, web conferencing is a manner of meeting online. Instead of the traditional conference room and the table around which peers gathered, professionals are just as likely to “gather” through web conferencing - dialing into a virtual meeting room where a leader heads an exchange of information. Consider the many things that web conferencing can do for any company - large or small:
Saving Time - Web conferencing harnesses the benefits of the Internet in the form of instant gratification. Those who need to meet about particular issues can do so instantly or within the time period that it takes to invite people to log onto your conference. There is much to be said for being able to tackle issues immediately - even in light of the distance that may separate the parties involved. Success is often achieved in the details and web conferencing allows companies to address the details with efficiency.
Saving Money - Every business is concerned with saving money, especially right now. Web conferencing eliminates the need for travel. While companies may be comfortable doing business with someone a world away they most likely will not be comfortable with committing to the travel budget necessary to meet with them in person on a regular basis. Web conferencing allows companies to conduct business while watching their wallets.
